Thai High-School Students from Bangkok visit Osaka University and Fukui University of Technology

79 high-school students accompanied by 5 teachers from Suankularb Wittayalai School, one of the most renowned national boys school in Thailand, came to Japan from 24 to 27 February. On the 25th, the students and teachers joined the one-day trip to visit Fukui University of Technology.  They attended an explanatory meeting about FUT’s faculties and curricula. They dropped in at Eiheiji Temple for sightseeing on the way back. On the 26th, they visited Suita Campus of Osaka University.  They joined an opening ceremony held at Science and Technology Library Hall, and after exchanging greetings with Dr. Hitoshi Hisada, the director of ASEAN Center, they continued with a presentation session about the study and life in OU; Asst Prof. Dr. Phumphon Sanon Parinya made a presentation on the study at School/Graduate School of Engineering and the international students from Thailand made presentations on OU college life. Thereafter they moved to Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, Graduate School of Engineering, Cybermedia Center, Institute of Laser Engineering, and Joining and Welding Research Institute, to join training sessions. They were wearing masks during all the meeting and session time for the prevention of COVID-19 infection. On returning to Thailand, they followed the mandatory quarantine for 14 days.
