The 2nd Public Lecture “Medical knowledge for staying healthy in Yangon”

The 2nd Yangon Public Lecture “Medical knowledge for staying healthy in Yangon” was held on January 12, 2020 in Yangon, Myanmar. The purpose of this lecture is to provide Japanese residents in Myanmar with the medical knowledge of infectious diseases and other diseases that they should know. This lecture is organized and sponsored by our foundation with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Myanmar, and co-sponsored by the Infectious Diseases Research Center of Niigata University in Myanmar and the Research Institute for Microbial Diseases of Osaka University. In addition to the topics on infectious diseases, this year’s public lecture also covered topics on arrhythmia as well as some other basic medical knowledge and information necessary to stay safe in Yangon. We received many positive responses in the questionnaire conducted after the lecture, e.g., “I learned a lot of useful things, so I appreciated the lecture very much,” “I expect another lecture like this next year,” “I was not so much familiar with infectious diseases in Japan, but I am now familiar with this kind of diseases in Myanmar, so this lecture was quite helpful.”
