Research Institute for Microbial Diseases (RIMED), Osaka University, held the 9th Training Course for Medical Doctors on Tropical Infectious Diseases in Thailand. The R.E.P. started to support this course in 2017. Japanese medical doctors stayed in Mesod and Khonkaen for one week for each place to participate in the ward practice and receive lectures from the exparts of various tropical diseases this year. They studied such infectious diseases as malaria, dengue fever, and melioidosis that they hardly observed in Japan.
